Have You Registered A Domain Name And Ready To Create A Website?

Creating a website and you already registered a domain name?

Trying to build a website around a name is very difficult to do, especially if you have not done a very important step for the process. Your first step in building your website needs to be the planning process. Many beginners do not realize this and when their website fails, they may believe they failed. But in reality they did not fail as long as they understand the missing steps and try again to rebuild their website.

Sure, many say it is very easy to create a website with only using three steps but not one of those steps is planning.

Planning your website

This is a very critical step when you create a website. You need to figure out the Who, What, Where, When, Why and How. It may sound difficult to do, but if you take the time at the beginning of your building process, you will find out that in the long run it will save your time (and money).

Who will be your audience? Have you chosen a targeted niche?

What is the content going to be about on your pages? What will be your keywords?

Where are you going to host the site? Will you use free web hosting or paid?

When do you plan on this website being finished? 5 days, 30 days. Be realistic and set a target date.

Why do you want to build your own website?

How is all the steps above to help guide you with your website creation.

The steps above may take you a few minutes or could take you a day or longer. But each one is important when you create a web site.

Even if you already registered your domain name and built your site and your site is not working how you want it to, take a moment and do the 5 W's and 1 H. It might show you what you are missing.

Tracking Your Website Performance

In any type of sales if you're not tracking your leads, your sales, your conversion rates, etc. then you are missing out on an opportunity to expand and grow your business; in the Internet Marketing world this is especially true.

There are plenty of free tools on the Internet nowadays that allow you to see how many visitors you are getting, what geographic location they are in and 'how' they got to your website. The 'how' they got to your site is the most important question of all.

You may be getting 500 visitors a month of which 300 may be coming from advertising source 'A' with another hundred coming from advertising source 'B' and yet another 50 visitors coming from advertising source 'C' with the rest coming in small increments of 1-5 from different ads that you've placed on the Internet.

One good reason to track your website visitors is it lets you know whats working in contrast to that which is barely working if working at all; this way you can save time and energy focusing on what works and tossing aside what doesn't.

Another excellent reason is, as stated before, to save time. You want an online business to enjoy the increase in time available to spend with your family, on hobbies or on whatever you want to do. If you're laboring at a computer all day wasting time on what doesn't work then you are also wasting precious time that would better be spent elsewhere.

There are all kinds of free trackers on the Internet but one of the best I've ever seen is Google Analytics. You can see everything from the number of visitors your site had from day to day, but you can also see their geographical location as well as how they were referred to your site. This is very important as you want to know what is working and what isn't. Another benefit of Google analytics is that it doesn't leave a little box at the bottom of your page which allows both you and all your visitors to see your site statistics. With Google Analytics you place a small piece of code at the bottom of your page which is invisible so only you have access to your stats.

Top 5 Reasons to Start a Web Business If You Are an Athlete or Coach

As an athlete, or someone who is coaching athletes, you have a unique viewpoint of your sport and can profit from it online! Here's a list of reasons why you need to bring your knowledge to the internet today:

1. You need more money. You may have a job you love, and even make decent money. You may hate your job and get paid peanuts. Either way, a web business can help! You will be able to make a decent side income to supplement what you have, or even make a career out of your online business.

2. You need more time. Having an online business means you can create passive income, and free up the amount of time you have to spend working.

3. You can give back to the world. Creating a site around a concept that you are aware of or that you already teach others means bringing those ideas to the world. If you are an expert in a certain sport why keep everything to yourself? If you are a coach, why not teach to a massive audience instead of a small, local one?

4. You are an individual and don't like bosses. Who likes to have a boss, even one that you get along with? A web business can eventually free you from this seemingly inevitable human condition, of having to answer to someone besides yourself.

5. You want a flexible schedule. Maybe you love your coaching job and always want to do it, but it doesn't pay the bills. Maybe you just want to leave the 8-5 world and create your own hours. Either way, a web business is a great way to great freedom daily, and not be a slave to a schedule.

You've got plenty of reasons. Now it's time to take the first step in starting your sports business online!
