How's your website, then?

I'm not asking whether it's a good site or not, but what its performance is like. Is it slow to load? Does it have problems with certain web browsers? Occasionally you'll find that code working perfectly on, say Internet Explorer, doesn't work with Firefox. And vice-versa. Any coding problems?

How should I know? Who... who cares? I hear you ask.

Because it's important. You only have seconds -- tenths of seconds, even -- to make an impression on people who come to your site. If the site isn't working, has dead links or some old code that doesn't work and leaves the site with blank areas, you can bet your life those lovely, potential customers will click away at the drop of a pixel. And more than likely they'll be clicking away to the welcoming site of one of your competitors.

Wake up and smell the Mugicha! After reading this post you no longer have any excuses for not knowing. There's a website I often turn to when I want to see how my own site is doing, performance-wise. It makes for uncomfortable reading sometimes, because it doesn't hesitate to tell me stuff I don't particular want to hear -- the site's too heavy, too many images, too many elements, you've failed at life, you're a bad, bad person... et depressing cetera. But it's well worth it.

I'm not particularly interested in contacting the owners of the site to ask for their optimization services, but the results I get when I check my site are very interesting. Useful, too. Oh, and completely free. Check it out.

Servers are systems which are used to manage computer networks. They are able to perform all kinds of activities and they could be dedicated to a particular job. For instance, a file server stores the files which contain data and information that belong to a certain network. An example of this would be Microsoft's Exchange Server, which is dedicated to handle business mails as well as other types of business communication. Another example would be multiprocessor servers that handle several tasks simultaneously such as managing mailboxes, storing data and other tasks.

Servers have been basically created to be able to have better management of data. They make the whole process of information management faster and safer. However, there are also other applications for servers. These would include the provision of access to the Internet. A lot of people make use of a server, which has been provided by a company, which manages the availability of web connectivity and other services for them. This actually makes it a lot cheaper and easier to use so that we can stay connected online.

Servers are also useful to manage official communication. Since virtually all offices today are running on LAN servers, companies are able to connect and manage all their computers centrally and conveniently. It also serves as a cheaper, simpler and safer method to keep everything well managed.

Servers also permit remote access. If an individual has to access a computer in the main office and he or she is traveling, that individual can access the information that he or she needs from that computer using a computer at the current location which is also connected to the same server where the other one is connected to.

As you know there is lots of information out there on this subject. These days we are blessed being that we have the world of information at our finger tips. This of course can be helpful but it can also be overwhelming.

If you want to generate a real income then you will need to treat your venture with a serious mind set. One that is detailed and specific. I visit a number of forums online and I notice a certain pattern.

Those who succeed seem to be far more detailed in how they succeeded. Those who fail seem to be only detailed in blaming the reasons why they failed. They do not provide specifics as to what they did.

The reason maybe because they would have to defend their actions. They would be exposed and vulnerable to criticism.

By the way this criticism would be constructive because the majority of folks out there would genuinely point out what you are doing wrong and how you can go about fixing it.

You see those who succeed are not afraid of this. They understand that they may have shortcomings and welcome constructive analysis in order to move themselves closer to their objective.

The point I want to make is this. In order to bring anything from the world of ideas into the world of reality you will need to be detailed in your execution.

I mean you could not go to a bank and ask the bank manager for venture capital if all you have is ideas with no basis in reality. You will have to be specific and provide actual actions you can take to achieve your goal.

The same should hold true before you buy into any business opportunity online or build any website. Before you invest anything you need to provide a detailed outline as to what you are prepared to do and how you are going to do it - based upon the reality of your given set of skills and circumstances.

Once you do this I promise you that you will build a real business that will generate a real income because your execution will be detailed and specific and grounded in reality.
