Most business owners unknowingly give their webmaster complete control over their business website. Even if you don't have a pre-nuptial agreement (contract) or own your website you can still maintain some control. While you and your webmaster are honeymooning be sure you can document the answer to these questions: 1. What software was used to develop the website?
2. How to access the code? 3. Where is the code located on the server? 4. How to change the content?
5. How to create a weekly back up? 6. How to grant access to additional users? 7. How to obtain the master copies of your website design? As a business owner, how many people realize their webmaster is like their spouse? Voluntarily joined for life (or until divorce), not many! Just like in marriage a prenuptial agreement (contract) is a practical solution to dealing with the risks and problematic topic of who gets to keep the website after your divorce.

Must-Have Tip #4 - Focus your web copy on satisfying the needs of your customer. Content can make or break the sale, or determine whether a visitor stays or finds another site to shop. Be sure to provide your costumers with unique and interesting words to help pique their interest and differentiate your products and services from your competitor's. A well-thought through home page and a few articles that prompt a desired action, while simultaneously provide information to help your visitors quickly (in one or two clicks max) find and pay for products and services will keep them interested, and coming back again and again for future information and purchases. Note: Consider hiring a contact writer if you're at a loss with web content. This may be a significant investment, but the results, and the success of your site, will definitely be worth it in the long run! Must-Have Tip #5 - Update, update, update. This cannot be stressed enough; if you provide no reason for visitors to show up on your site again, why would they? If the information is the same week after week, month after month, who would want to? Even your local Wal-Mart will provides weekly sales flyers to entice shoppers back to their store! Keep your site fresh and updated! In closing, I am sure you are reading this article because you want a professional website. If you have programming skills and can write your own code, great! If not, there are many affordable, quality online website builders available; many hosting packages also provide web software and templates. With a little elbow grease and effort, you can build and maintain a successful website as well!
Marketing to Find Motivated Sellers - How We Model Investor Marketing
I am using the time I alloted today to work on the real estate investor marketing in the Learn To Be Rich on-line game to lay out a framework of the steps we need to follow to get this new feature implemented into the game. First, I will need to access the Php MyAdmin control panel and manually add in some of the sample types of marketing so that I begin to play with those with my test player in the game. My intention is to add 3 or so different ones like classified ads, bandit signs and door to door flyers. Next, once I have those three in the database, I will need to add some code so that there is a chance each turn to learn that from our in-game Marketing Consultant. This includes adding the type of marketing to that players database table as something that is available. It also includes making sure that it shows up on the Real Estate tab as something you can work on. Once I have it in the players database table, I need to add the code for the player to be able to modify how much to spend each turn on that type of marketing. Next, I will need to write the code to determine the number of new houses that appear for you to look at based on the marketing you are spending money on. Once I have this basic system working, then I will go back and add more types of marketing and tweak the interface to get the right balance in the game. So, that is the plan right now to make the game have that new feature for modeling the marketing to find motivated sellers.
